 Latin Mass

Location: Holy Family Parish, Latrobe
Celebrated: Every Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Bishop Emeritus Lawrence E. Brandt announced the celebration of the Mass in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, or the Latin Mass as it is more well known, in the Diocese of Greensburg, December 20, 2012. This announcement corresponded to a Vatican directive that instructed every Catholic diocese in the world to make the Mass in the Extraordinary Form available to the faithful.  Weekly celebrations of the Latin Mass began the first Sunday of Lent 2013 under the guidance of Father Daniel C. Mahoney.

Father Matthew J. Morelli, Pastor of Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, serves as the Bishop's Representative for matters pertaining to the celebration of the Mass in the Extraordinary Form.  He is assisted by the Benedictines of St. Vincent Archabbey and the Canons of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest from Most Precious Blood of Jesus Parish in Pittsburgh.
